Application
These low inductance capacitors are AC units for connection in parallel with GTO thyristors to limit the steepness of the edge of the periodic reverse voltage of the thyristors.
Construction
The self-healing capacitor elements are enclosed in a cylindrical aluminium case. Dielectric is PP film impregnated with mineral oil, electrodes are made of double sided metallized paper. This ensures high voltage loading with low losses. The case is fitted with an overpressure disconnector and an M12 mounting stud, which is also used for the protective conductor connection.
